I love berries, in the morning, I love berries who could ask for anything more! Who could aaaskkk for anything mooorr- So, that’s what I like the call a remix.
Blackberries and raspberries are quite similar so they are going to share this blog post like the little twinsies they are. Both of them are great right now, coming in during the warmer months you’ll start seeing these berries at their finest in the market. When you pick out both raspberries and blackberries, look for a good color, firm feel, and a nice scent. When they are overripe, both of these berries will turn darker, become mushy, and will possibly be leaking out their juices. If they are under ripe, they will be multicolored and possibly still have stems on them. Take them home and store in the fridge for 3-6 days. Make sure to wash them before you eat them, always!
Now let’s make this a little competition. Raspberries are awesome for vitamin C, vitamin K, fiber, and manganese. Pretty amazing for something the size of your pinky nail, wouldn’t you say? Blackberries are a good source for vitamin C, vitamin K, vitamin E, manganese, magnesium, folate, AND potassium! Totally blew raspberries out of the water with that one; but don’t be too sad for the raspberries….after all they are the prettier one.
